All seemed okay, the rattling of the windows and the flickering lights I had somehow gotten adjusted to when suddenly during the middle of the flight, without any warning, the pilot descends steeply, rises a little bit, and then descends some more - all in a matter of minutes!!.There are people falling, drinks spilling, shouts of fear, people rushing to their seats and frantically putting on their seat belts, TOTAL CHAOS!! The aircraft lights are switched off and one look through the window shows what can be only described as an illuminated light appearing from between the dense clouds that have engulfed the craft (it was night btw).

Everyone is petrified..eyes glued to the windows when the speakers crackle to life (it felt like hours), the lights are restored and the pilot apologizes for his evasive behaviour saying that as it is the monsoon period he was trying to avoid bad airspace and lightning by flying at a lower altitude...
At times, an experience like this shakes up your spirit, makes you question the airworthiness of aircrafts, and the risks involved in air travel!
life just feels too fragile!

Every year, between the months of june and august, there is a heavy influx of passengers travelling to the asian subcontinent for their annual vacation/break. There is a lot of pressure on the airlines during this period and the fares just shoot up.The local airlines share the load & due to lack of availability in any international carriers I had the misfortune of travelling once in one such local airline.
The aircraft (a conservative estimate) was atleast 20 years old, albeit refurbished. No tv, which is fine, the airhostess came forth and explained the safety procedures with respect to seatbelts and emergency situations.

A really terrifyin place that i've heard of is a palace that was constructed 20 years back in Ras Al Khaimah (A city in United Arab Emirates), a great deal of money was spent and the place pretty much had all the riches of its time....
However today, the palace is desolate, in ruins, and haunted!!
Im not sure how or why though

mogadishu yes, Sudan no.
For a country (somalia) to be under civil unrest for 19 years without a functioning government.
Mogadishu is quite terrifying

the mouth of these constrictors is very flexible, they swallow the entire body and then the very acidic interiors of these snakes starts breaking the body up
it has also been reported that anacondas have eaten crocs this way, so we humans are easy fodder as compared
