There are advantages of four thirds - a growing ecosystem of lenses and accessories. That is not cheap to develop. How large is the market for this (EVIL) class of cameras? Will manufactures be able to sell more than one or two each?

So lets not be so inflexible: Pentex makes a camera with APS sensor for 4/3 mount. The APS-C: 14.8mm by 22.2 mm and Four Thirds: 13mm by 17.3 mm that is not a huge difference The GH1 18.9mm wide, that is a difference of 3mm. Let the users decide where to crop the image and where it gets soft. That would give a beautiful square format that all of us have been asking for.

Pentex's place is a crowed world.

Light Attack and Armed Reconnaissance (LAAR) should be a observation and Combat Air Support platform that is designed for the job at hand. Not a mult-role fighter pressed into duty as ground support. This aircraft needs to split the difference between an Apache, an A10 and a Reaper.

"The Air Force should also develop and deploy a next-generation, low observable gun ship to support special operators. It could be either manned or unmanned and should have a large magazine and long loiter time."

I would argue that this is not only necessary for special forces but as all units operate further afield local air resouces become increasingly important. Thus an affordable short take off and landing, CAS and observation platfrom becomes something to think about. vSTOL, Box Wing, Ducted Props, M230 30mm Chain Gun on belly turret: Some images of what this might look like can be found at: http://www.architectswanderlust.com/?p=16.
