Dad Street : The Nanny's Out and Daddy's In!

I agree! you have to have times of making as much noise as possible just to let them get it out of your system! For us, we chase each other around the house yelling, the dog's barking and howling and it's just madness!

Better Husbands and Fathers : Spritual Thought: To visit the Fatherless and Widows...

I couldn't agree more. There is a real lack in male leadership when it comes to sensitivity to orphans and widows. I learned last week that about 3% of all adoptions are initiated by the husband. I'm glad you are raising awareness of this Biblical mandate. There are literally thousands of ways for people to care for the most vulnerable people, whether mentoring, sponsoring a child, adopting, etc. Great post!

Greg Hoffman Marketing Gorilla : Where Are All the Daddy Bloggers?

Hmm, guess I don't fit in. I work. I'm a dad, and I sometimes get to sit down at night with the computer and write down the fun stuff we do. It's kinda like the male version of scrapbooking (i can't believe I just said that) but really I just like to keep a journal of what my life and kids were like. They grow up fast! I'm not looking for money, just people to stop by and say hi, and occasionally I get a chance to sit down and read other dad's who blog too, just to know that I'm not alone in this thing. That's where I am, and I suppose there are a lot of other dads out there just like me.

Dad Street : The Case of The Flying Poop

Ever since reading this post my wife and I have been joking "Watch out for Flying poop!" every time we change a diaper (we get that here sometimes, too) great post, and I loved how you showed the picture up front and then revealed the hidden meaning later on. By the way, I think you missed a spot on your pants...oh wait, I think that's some flying poop on my computer screen, nevermind.

Clark Kent's Lunchbox : Stefan Lanfer Asks, \"Super Dad or Super Spin?\"

I find myself evaluating my attitudes and actions more. After all, I might blog about it and that's a scary thing. I realize how far from being a 'great' dad and husband I am. I see that I have so much to work on. This is good and bad. Bad because I can't perform the most important role in my life as anything less than 'great'. The only positive side is, at least I guarantee myself lots of material to write about as I learn and grow. I think about how what I'm learning applies to what I'm living. I used to journal a lot in a little leather book I picked up in Venice, Italy. I would write about what was going on, and I would put pen to paper to capture what God was teaching me at the moment. And blogging daily really forces me to interact with my own life and thoughts regularly. I love my kids, and blogging about them makes me appreciate them more. The little things they do that are cute or funny stand out to me a little more, because I'm thinking about what memories I want to capture and remember the rest of my life and what memories I just can't wait to share. Of course, I don't have to blog to do that, but it has helped me do it even more. Lastly, blogging has helped me keep a positive view of life instead of focusing on the negative. Yes having kids is hard, but do I want to focus on the difficulties each day? Or do I want to spend my evenings reflecting on why it's great! But I do try to do a fair perspective of myself to not puff myself up to make me sound better than I am (see my latest post about rubbernecking at my cooking) My recent post Rubbernecking- It’s Only Natural

Clark Kent's Lunchbox : On Dad Blogs Sucking, Perspective and Garden Gnomes

I made a prediction about dad blogs for 2011 and so far it's coming true. But I'm not sure about writing about all that other stuff, I have three blogs all linked together so there's the dad side of me, the adoptive parent side of me, and the deep thinker side of me, but I keep each blog with a specific theme. Is that bad? My recent post Dad Blog Prediction

...To Be A Dad. : Decision

Dad in the Middle : The 25 Best Christian Blogs (Presented by the Blog Patrol)

I too have added the dadpad to my blogroll. I'm a Baptist Dad with two kids. My daughter has hearing loss and my son is currently ten months old. I try to write about my experience as a dad, and how I am learning to lead and to love better. Check it out if you'd like. I found your blog by searching for "Christian dad blog", and there aren't that many out there...glad to see someone else with great christian content!
BagOfNothing.com : Baby Reacts To Hearing For The First Time

This is a great post! My daughter was born with only moderate to severe hearing loss, but it was caught at birth. Many hospitals do not screen for this regularly so we were very blessed that it was detected early on. Her hearing aides help restore her hearing to pretty much normal levels. But it was no less amazing to see this little boy hear his mother's voice for the first time!
