In my 20's I took friendships for granted ... but the older I get the more I appreciate the gift of friends (what a sweet post Jennifer!)
I'm not a big hand raiser, but our youth group sits on the front rows of our church and when a few of them raise their hands it makes me teary. There's something about worship, it's so powerful to watch it touch people.
This was so good, Jennifer. I tend to focus on the here and now too. This is kinda morbid, but I told my husband recently if I thought a little more about hell, I'd be a much better witness. I know it's real but I don't want to think about it. But it's important to look at the big picture. And heaven and hell are as real as where we live now. And what we focus on will impact eternity. Wise words, friend. Thanks for sharing this!
new babies - God help me - made me laugh! I've often told my husband I want a new construction house that is brand spanking shiny and clean. But it would eventually get dirty. But seeing it through new eyes - thankful and appreciative makes a big difference. (and you're right, there is character is these creaky halls and dusty corners :)

There's something about the end of August / beginning of Sept that feels fresh and new. What a fun stage you're walking into! More time to spend w/ your little girls and in the classroom of a big kindergartener! Hope the week continues to go well :)

This is really good, Jennifer. Last summer, I wanted to host a Bible study in my home, but for some reason I didn't have a peace about it. I knew I'd need to arrange childcare for my youngest and my husband would need to take our older children out. Finally, in my quiet time one morning, God gently reminded me through His word that "your family is your ministry right now". And that if I spend these days ministering to others and not investing in their lives, I will have missed out on one of the greatest blessings God has given me.
