this is a great post about such a difficult topic and the very real fallout of BSL. i really think things are moving in the right direction on this, and many communities are starting to realize that dangerous dog ordinances that are not breed based are such a better way to go than blanket laws based solely on appearance. let's hope we can keep the momentum up so that stories like this are left entirely in the past.

Thanks so much for this great honor. It's really moving to read what you've written about us, and to know that you think we are really making a difference.
And a quick note to our friends who think fostering would be too hard: try to remember that the heartache of adopting out a dog you've grown to love is nothing compared to the loss of life that occurs when dogs aren't pulled from shelters and given a chance. You heart will grow back and become whole again, but the dogs who are lost in shelters because there's not enough space (and not enough foster homes) will never have another chance.
