Great idea! I blog on my own site JennsZen.com and it definitely fits in both categories, personal and audience. What about you?

Coming from an editorial background, blogging has been a completely new experience in tone for me. I believe it's a necessary challenge though to speak from my own perspective and admit my mistakes in order for others to save some time and effort avoiding them. I often have to rewrite things a few times to give it that "me" tone, instead of the "from the expert" view I'm so comfortable with. :) I really like tip #3 as well. You need to establish early what you want your readers to do so they are ready and comfortable with it.

Love the post, especially #5. I think people are innately attracted to people who express their passion over a subject, even if you disagree. I think opening up and letting out your "bogeyman post" is a great way to really find out what you're passionate about. :)

Awesome post - thanks for the link through 3T. :) I've always thought Lady Gaga was a marketing genius. I really like how you've broken down her successful actions into doable actions for bloggers. There's an amazing amount of value and it's a good reminder to keep your branding inline and relevant. What I've learned from Gaga is certainly to "sweat the details." It seems like so many people want you to ignore the little things because It's a bit more difficult. In my opinion, those are the differentiators, the things that set you apart from the norm.
