My main problem with this whole matter is not so much about the Senate GOP supporting Obama in Afghanistan, but the idea that we should leave from one Islamic territory that did not attack us to another nation's government that did not attack us is just redistribution of nation-building. Why can't we withdraw from the Middle East altogether and allow them to settle their own problems? Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq do not serve any interest to our nation's security. It is not the federal government's role to liberate nations who seek not to be liberated. We can't say we live in a Republic of small, constitutional governance while using obtrusive, statist forces abroad on foreign, third world nations, most of whom never attacked us.
