I feel that way every every two weeks as well...Gotta love them hormones! Why do men not have to deal with this!?!

Unfortunately they are at the same annoying level all of the time :P They never get better. It is terrible.

Hmmm, I think I was expecting too much, too quick. I will keep what you said in mind.

Alright. That is helpful for him. He has reverted back to being mine (along with every other horse. The little sister has decided that horses are no longer her thing *headdesk* I haven't worked with him in a loooong time, but I should have some time to finally work with everyone next week *happy dance*

He is very much 'on his forehead' and extremely dull. I get what you're saying and will try it next time I am out there!

I'm excited he has caught on too! I'm going to attempt to try it with my 'new' horse...he's really, really green and wild and I'm excited to experiment on him as well. I'm hoping to turn him into a lesson and trail horse (he is naturally a 'teacher') and I also want to see how a horse with little training and contact is going to respond to it :)))

Thank you ;). I just noticed it because he used to really twist through his poll. It was a very obvious difference!

I noticed that when I played with him today. He was definitely responding, but most of the time he would scratch or, as was the case when I would try to get him to drop his head, lower his head a tad and then walk to me for a scratch...

I tried it (I pretended as if I was releasing a rein) at liberty today and he actually bent around and flexed. I was like O.o. I'm in the process of writing up a post on today's session...I'll include how he did when I was asking for the head down :)

Alright. I see what you're saying, I tried all of this out Tuesday and then again on Saturday and I should have the Tuesday session up once we have power back :)

I tried the grass game and he started to ignore the grass. I also tried to time when I worked with him to be when he was winding down for the day and wasn't as concerned about eating :)

When Sonny goes into the lateral flexion and seems confused, he typically holds it for a looooooooong time. It's kinds of like he's looking back at me telling me to slow down and wait a minute. When he pops out he will give a big sigh and lick and chew. Also, when he holds it he doesn't blink at all...

Thank you! I totally see what you're saying, and when I looked back over the footage with your VoiceOver I was able to see where he was trying...I was just too focused on him giving more than I was getting. Now, I definitely saw that when I had my arm over he was not OK with that, and one thing I do have a question on, when he did the fairly large lateral action and held it, he does this fairly often and typically when I thought he was super stressed (he will turn into me and hold his head as far into me as he can...the first time I distinctly remember it was the first time I rode him and we went too fast and he got confused.), I went too fast, or he got confused, but you think it may be that he is releasing and figuring it out?

The one thing you did not see in the footage was the cats and the pony's attempt to eat both me, and then when I wouldn't pay attention, the camera. Half the footage I had was of a pony nose and teeth :P

Back on the topic of the video, I see how I should have let him drop his head, and then picked it up a minute or two later. My hands were too 'hard'. Actually, that probably added to his tension and 'rooting'! I'm going to *try* to find somewhere without a bazillion distractions and no grass, but until I can find this place, how do you suggest I keep him focused in the environment he is in now? Currently the only other option I have is either in with the goats or out in knee high grass and baby cows :). Hopefully we will have a round pen up in a couple of weeks, but who knows? Any tips?

I keep listening to the clip, and I'm sure I will come up with more questions :). I will post them as they pop into my mind :)))

Hmmm, that is something to ponder for a while. A righteous anger is a very good thing, if you don't hate something, you have to care about it in a way. You have to feel one way or the other. You cannot just dislike evil. You MUST hate it.

Hmmm, that makes a bit more sense. I do that a bit already, but is should start thinking about it when I do it...

Ahhhhh, that helps a ton! Maybe I'll be able to get some video this weekend if it doesn't end up raining the whole time :))) What would you like some video of?

That was beautiful Hannah. I have gotten that answer before, but I know that I did not accept it graciously :). Typically I threw a hissy fit and tried to fix or make it happen on my own, on my schedule. That is never, ever a good idea :)
