By the way, I completely sympathize with how talkaholics make you feel. As an introvert I somehow manage to attract an extraordinary amount of chatter from other people and marvel at how some people don't know how to STFU. :-)

Great post about a topic that's (unfortunately) not discussed very often in marketing circles.

If we were all better at listening, there probably wouldn't be as much of a need for therapists and anti-depressants.

That's a brilliant strategy and would also work for new college grads or unemployed folks looking for work. I once heard someone suggest Fed Exing a portable DVD player to the CEO of the #1 company you want to work for with a pre-installed DVD of a short video of yourself explaining why they should hire you, then follow up with a phone call. That would be another way to get the attention of the #1 big dog you want to JV with you.
