You know, I've known you were here but truthfully because I'm in the sandwich generation too, I've been afraid to do more than a drive-by, so to speak, because it's still so scary for me to face this. In reality, I have faced it with my mom in the hospital for a month and just coming home now. But you came to see me, and I think this means, in some cosmic way, that it's time for me to visit you on a regular basis. Just snooping around I can see how beautiful and warm and welcoming a place your blog is. You are full of humor and happiness. I hope you will hold my hand, now and then, as I go through this - and I will hold yours with your mom too. It's hard enough without the added pressures of our ASD boys. Thank you for coming to see me so I could come see you and find some strength.

I too am of the squashed generation. My mother (whom I lost only in October) was 91years old. I am 47 years old and have 13 and 11 year old boys. My oldest is on the spectrum. I know exactly how you have felt.
