As a slight reminder to the rushrubes that missed it. The NEA (that's the National Endowment For The Arts, for those that think Limbaugh tells the truth) the same NEA that gave us the pic of Christ floating in urine: received under THE REPUBLICAN CONTROLLED CONGRESS in 2004. THEIR BIGGEST BUDGET INCREASE SINCE 1984. The same GOP that promised conservatives that the NEA and CPB (Corporation for Public Broadcasting..again to the Rushrubes) would be ELIMINATED....some elimination.

Well, pretty regularly, Easter in Egypt or another Muslim country means a congregation of Christians is sealed up in their church during services and burned alive. The Muslim world doesn't seem all that concerned about their hideous deaths. No international outrage and Imams speaking up on the sacredness of all life or anything. I'm not all that upset about the Koran burning, but I wish the infantile man planning on burning it would not lower himself to the level of the Muslims.

I've said for years that the NEA should be abolished. It's an organization dedicated to destroying art, not promoting it. In my book, the NEA is on the list of recognized Cultural Terrorist Groups. And no, funding something like Dog Poop Koran would not change my mind: Thats a stupid idea too.

Reminder to all, the liberal premise of the U.S. Constitution and the 1st amendment does not impose upon us. It limits the Fed Govt. So if, say New York State wanted to limit free speech, in its constitution, it could, via the State govt and people's votes of said state constitution. Liberals continually revision the U.S. Constitution for their own purposes, like a god or Sith absulotism, imposing on us the claims of mulitcultural hedonist pornographic submission of everything. If we conservatives could just figure that out, their ACLU lawyers & judges & activists would be losing every battle.

Where to start. I get so tired of hearing things like Catholic's obsession with the body and blood of Christ. Hello. Read the Gospel. Jesus said do this in memory of me. That tool may have been raised as a Catholic, but he obviously never paid any attention. Also I remember the painting of Mary with the elephant dung. And while it was obnoxious, I heard the artist say that in the country he came from in Africa that's a fertility ritual. Not the picture, but the elephant dung. I don't know if he was lying or not, so I still give him the benefit of the doubt on that one. As for the central theme, that's what a co-worker basically said when I asked his opinion on the issue. Dunk a Koran in a jar of urine and file for an NEA grant.

Bottom line is its a lot of fuss, most of it hyped by the media, over the burning of paper and ink. I'm not supporting the deliberate burning of any books but this stunt has been blown out of all proportion. Where's the indignant anger and rage over the burning of the American flag? Where's the backlash over images of muslims shouting for death of the infadels and western cultures? Freedom of speech has to apply equally to everyone or to no-one. It cant be allowed to be skewed in favour of the loudest and most violent crackpot fanatics. The day that happens is the day the US opens its arms and constitutional rights to sharia law.

Chris Olifi and the Brooklyn Museum had a huge luxury. The fantastical world of the Davinci Code notwithstanding, Chris did not have to worry about Cistercian Monks issuing a Fatwa or Falafal or whatever on his life. The critics who swooned over it did not have to fear going the way of Theodoor Van Gogh. Jones and his book burning ilk are a disgusting reminder of the dark ages our founders tried to leave behind when they declared, though words and later deeds, that igonorance and should end at our shores and freedom and equality should begin. Unfortunately, our founders made a commitment to protect Olifi and Jones despite their tastlessness or idiocy. Too bad their descendents appear so willing to sacrifice principle for comfort. When will the same media that so quickly condemned Jones condemn the fatwa issued against all Q'uran burners?
