Pentagon PR people think that Americans hope that, in time, Afghanistan may be able to raise itself out of abject poverty? Well I'll be a monkey's uncle! I can't believe USers have any such hope. The US should have simply given the money to every Afghan woman and girl, instead of spending it on lard-ass "soldiers" and importing gasoline to Afghanistan for US use.
