After all, only those who committed crime in Islam need to fear hudud. Allah is greater than Syariah and Jakim put together. He knows our heart and will be our ultimate Judge of who has committed a crime, even corruption! So to those who have committed secret sins, be afraid, be very afraid.

So when will Muslims in Malaysia be ready for hudud? By the way, the Malays in Peninsular Malaysia have been Muslims more than 600 years ago... maybe it is Mahathir himself who is not ready for hudud, for reasons best known to himself and maybe to me, also.

What about other parts of the body that has done wrong like making eunuch of rapist. What about the brain doing wrong then? A show of extreme punishment cannot be accepted anymore in this modern society. This can be part of the supremacist upbringing.

Hudud, is again so political and designed to win the Malay votes from PAS. When will we ever concentrate on truly governing Malaysia, becoming a developed nation and really treat all Malaysians as equals ? Honestly for Non Muslims, we are just increasingly being oppressed, threatened and been made the pawns in this power struggle. I really fear for the future of non Muslims in this country. Enough is enough, we non muslims must not bow down to all these threats and oppression. GOD will help us but we must help ourselves and fight for our rights.

Perhaps it&#039;s because there&#039;s no space for dissent and civil society to express their opposition to the draconian laws that the ruling [which incidentally doesn&#039;t understand justice as well] imposes while corruptly enriching itself and its benefactors with contracts that guarantee profits!

He is correct in saying this: &quot; He said this was because the party which intended to implement hudud, the Islamic penal code, was not prioritising justice which was emphasised in Islam but doing it their own way.&quot; The fact is that some of the suggested punishments, such as death for apostasy, are based on incorrect readings of the Quran. It is regarded by some scholars as a myth, yet many Muslims believe this to be the case. <a href="http://www.ascertainthetruth.com/att/index.php?option=com_content&amp;view=article&amp;id=61:death-for-apostasy-is-un-islamic-and-not-in-the-quran&amp;catid=64:understanding-al-islam&amp;Itemid=53" target="_blank">http://www.ascertainthetruth.com/att/index.php?op...</a> I am fairly certain that not even everyone in PAS has identical views on hudud, a subject that divides even Islamic scholars. Dr M is also correct in saying that most advocates of hudud are far too obsessed with form rather than substance. This link has some interesting resources: <a href="http://www.sistersinislam.org.my/news.php?cat.121" target="_blank">http://www.sistersinislam.org.my/news.php?cat.121</a> I repeat again my call for PAS to be intellectually honest. Is the call for hudud shared by the national PAS leadership? Is it held beyond Kelantan? Is is merely one faction of one state that is calling for it? These are important questions and deserve thoughtful answers.

Who could anyone trust the EC when the PM is the overall boss. The EC should be placed under the purview of Parliament and then we can see trust and confidence building up. So Dr. Mahathir is wrong in accusing that the young people are influenced by the West. What Malaysians want is FREE, CLEAN and FAIR elections. Is it too much to ask?
