Perhaps terrorists have already contacted and blackmailing the authority and a commando rescue unit has already deployed, while outwardly maintained that it was unlikely that terrorists were involved. Hopefully we will get news that a successful rescue mission was conducted and all passengers were alive and in good health.

There is GREAT suspicion that the Malaysian authorities are holding back important information that may lead them to being sued. First co-pilot's past behaviour, military giving conflicting remarks, etc.

Definitely switched off intentionally. Imagine if there was a real emergency, do you think a pilot will go all the way just to think about switching off the transponder first? Of course now the air force chief denies that the military installations tracked the last known location of the jet at melaka straits, because he knows that the next question being asked would be, "then why not the air force scrambled and send two fighter jets to investigate an unknown aircraft which it was not supposed to be there?".
