" As I drive around the DC area, I frequently see military personnel, both on foot and in cars - some sporting license plates boasting of the decorations they've received -, and I wonder how many of them have the blood of innocent people on their hands. I also wonder how willing they would be to perpetrate such actions on Americans. Yes, there are those famous surveys of active duty personnel asking just that, but having served in the Army, I know that there aren't two soldiers in a hundred who would refuse to carry out an order to kill unarmed prisoners or civilians. As for those psychopaths in uniform - and there are most certainly psychopaths in the military - I think of what set of circumstances would bring them to kill on their own initiative.
