Well, technically he is able to be awarded this according to the third justification. Also,the example of a Bronze Star you cited was most likely a Bronze Star with Valor.

But if this angers you, you would be livid over some of thr leaders I\'ve seen receive this, especially the ones eho deny awards to their soldiers who actually put their lives on the line during patrols, and then write themselves up for a Bronze at the end of a nice, cushy deployment.

What an obvious piece of propaganda garbage. Why anyone with half a brain capable of critical thinking would fall for this is beyond me. I think you morons need to look up the word meritorious and connect it with section (b) while engaged in military operations involving conflict with an opposing foreign force. I know it is difficult, but if you are going to be an arm chair general, at least be able to comprehend the definitions that you cite as evidence. This is just pathetic. Does the BSM have a V? No. Is there any reason to believe that the write up for the BSM mentions that the Chaplin in question acted heroically to get this award? No. Furthermore, the Evenson BSM citation isn’t even complete! There is no mention of what award was given to Evenson for his actions. If the BSM had a V device which is likely as it involved actively engaging the enemy. Seriously, this article is so far beyond amateur it’s pathetic. Due diligence, have you done it? Clearly none of you idiots have served in the military. If you had, you would understand that the BSM does not always imply heroics.

This is sickening. How degrading. The whole thing makes me sick. I had a grandpa in the Marines in WWII and my dad, a Marine, in Vietnam. Both earning Purple Hearts. To see our military handing out medals now for seeing how far we can bow down to the enemy causes a rage inside me.
