My guess is the answer is ZERO for you, as well as for Taibbi. There's a reason why Taibbi is "famous" right now. Maybe you should investigate who his father is and how nepotism works. Taibbi knows who butters his bread -- and it's not Joe Sixpack. It's the bankers who he supposedly is criticizing. Sorta makes you wonder what details Taibbi chooses to omit, to keep his benefactors happy. Or it should make you wonder that. If you care about the truth. There's just one problem with this theory - that is the reality of limited physical resources needed to sustain the lifestyles that "civilized" man has become accustomed to are running out. No amount of money (or jobs, for that matter...) is going to fix that: the days of the urban age is coming to a close and lots of people will be left out in the cold as the world separates into two classes - the state's elite rulers (who will forcefully expropriate their resources from everyone else until they run out of victims) and the survivalists (who will have self-sustaining lifestyles based on the resources of the land around them - as well as the means to defend that land base). Everyone else will either be dead or slaves to the rulers...

People need useful work, paid enough to live moderately. If there are not enough jobs, increasing military jobs is not a good use of funds; nor is imprisoning people for petty crimes. Rich people are NOT, as Mutt pretends, somehow better or more useful; they use the country's resources and need to contribute some of it to the rest of us. So called christians should understand this.

The central tenet of any anti-poverty strategy is work -- is having a job I disagree. The central tenet is money. There are clearly people who can't work, don't want work, and shouldn't work. They still need money. Edelman is actually saying the central tenet is exploitation and work just for the sake of work. Clearly he wants workers to get paid better. Then why not just pay people and empower people to use their money to form their own employment basis. Getting rid of the debt-based monetary system means that people can obtain stipends and the ambitious will put their stipend to work anyway the choose. Some will form their own businesses or become artisans, etc. For a young single mother work may not be the best use of her time when with a stipend she can stay home and raise her children to school age and before using her stipend for other activities like working for herself, her community, or others. The whole notion of jobs is becoming obsolete as the economy becomes more and more efficient. Service type jobs have grown and for many it may make sense to pay them stipends and allow people to form their own interconnected commercial relationships. As already remarked the pseudo-Left's real aim is to cover-up Zionism and in doing so keeps us limited in the debate of the reformation and restructuring of the economy and dealing with poverty.

Edelman sites that the "economy caught us with us", "Watergate" and "disillusionment" to explain why the optimism of the "War on Poverty faded". This is a simplistic generalization and for younger listeners, both Edelman and gate-kepper Moyers does a disservice by avoiding the seminal event of the 1970's that forever altered U.S. economic fortunes -- the 1973 Arab Oil Boycott. The Oil Boycott caused such shortages of oil supply that it force higher gasoline prices that caused prices to rise sharply. The rising prices put a profit squeeze on business that force many of these business to reclaim profitability by attacking labor and by shifting jobs to lower cost locales. Listening to Edelman and Moyers they give you the impression that the downturn was an "eventuality". In some manner they are right because the Federal reserve system and borrowing are not sustainable but those two factors were not the cause of the turnaround that started in the 1970's. The event that forced the abrupt alteration of policy was the oil boycott which was a direct consequence of U.S. support for Israel. These pro-Israel extremists didn't care about the rest of the economy and as a result Milton Friedman and his Chicago School ideology filled the void as Keynesian borrowing and spend could not rectify the hyperinflation of energy prices that depressed not only business profits but also purchasing power and American living standards. The pseudo-Left does everything in its power to avoid shining a spotlight on Jewish power, domination, and disproportionate influence of the American political economy. They give you the pretense of "speaking out" and of "standing up" against these forces while its real agenda is to monopolizing the narrative, concealing, diverting, and distorting the truth in order to control the opposition. U.S. support for the Zionist entity caused the Arab reaction that caused the boycott leading to economic disruption and displacement. It ushered in the near 40 years of neoliberal policies and backlash and opened the door for the reactionary response of Reaganism. No solution will succeed unless it confronts Zionism head on.,

Taibbi confirms that reality of the origins of the Tea Party -- the Banks and when the Banks are mentioned the dominate group are the Zionists that own these banks and controls the Federal Reserve System. It has taken 100 years to get to this point but we are here. They can use "euphemisms" but as these pundit admit the public are increasingly know who the culprits are. Using "mafia" analysis is a diversion and an insult to Christian Italians. Jews have been at the money for centuries and we are now witnessing the end result of monetary debasement and Keynesian borrowing. The question I would ask is why debt? Why do public governments (states and municipalities) need debt in order to provide the public services.
