data, data, data... Data alone has never fixed any problem, solved any crime, or improved anyone's safety. There still needs to be people who are able to think and fit all this stuff together. Ironically, the CIA could have all the data in the world and still miss something right under their noses. In the end too much data can be just as bad as not enough. Or a person can change over time. So much that the next terrorist may not even appear on the charts. Even if they had all they all the data from all their lives. It seems to me that data should only be keepable by court order.

i have done nothing that i am ashamed of, and I have not broken any laws, so I really don't care if the government keeps records on me for fifty years. They only thing about it that I don't like, is the fact that it costs a considerable amount of money to keep all those records on file. The cost of storage must be enormous. Of course they only keep those records that might be of some use in the future, for I am positive our government would not waste our money otherwise. Would they?
