With all due respect, the US Constitution and our Bill of Rights were used as toilet paper by the Bush administration. It was GW Bush who proudly proclaimed that the Constitution was "nothing more than a powder of paper." The problem is, you conservatives were too short-sighted to see the precedent that Dick Cheney and his assistant, GWBush, were establishing by using 9/11 as an excuse to trample all over our rights as American citizens. Torture, eavesdropping in on our electonic communications and The Patriot Act were all implemented under Republican watch as a means to undermine our Constitution. There is absolutely nothing that President Obama could do that hasn't already been done by the Bush administration that could further erode our rights. I'm sorry Mark, but you are being disingenuous and just trying to sell books. I've tried listening to your radio program, but your voice is so shill - its like listening to fingernails being drug across a blackboard. Stop being a hater on President Obama - it's having a negative impact on your health, and being so fat is going to shorten your life. Don't you have kids that you care about?

Levin is not being forthcoming or accurate when he names Obama and 'Liberals' as those who are pursuing a vision that is completely at odds with Limited Gov't and human freedom. This is simply propaganda, telling half the truth in order to trick the unaware into not seeing the other half. Truth is that 99% of what gets pushed through Congress is completely at odds with Limited Gov't and Human Freedom, aka Unconstitutional. When the framers wrote the Cosntitution they knew to their amazing wisdom that times and needs will change in the future and built in just enough clearance and flexibility in to the Const to adjust for the changing times. They did this without changing the core value and the Idea of the Cosntitution.

I can\'t say that I understand all the comments made so far..I take a much simpler attitude toward what has been occurring in our nation over the last number of years. 1. The press has been only reporting what they want us to know..including Fix News. 2. Congress passes or not for their benefit using a slight of hand game against Americans. 3. America is changing drastically so fast before our very eyes..they and I say \"they lightly\" there are only a few hundred against millions..but the one hand giving and the other taking..so quickly most can\'t follow it ..life is busy. 4. I don\'t believe it is 1 party doing this anymore..it has taken me a long time to get to that point but that\'s what I believe. Who in their right mind would want to be in \"our\" position when what their working toward times down? 5. Its obvious with all the \"camps and future (this year) checkpoint being set up..that terrorists mentioned are not considered foreign. I am a grandmother to 2 beautiful young granddaughter..I pray daily for them to grow up free with the opportunities my generation had..it was amazing..a beautiful life.. I don\'t see that happening for them and it saddens me for all the children who could grow up in a different world oppressed and with no opportunities.

Levin is basically correct: we now live in a post-Constitution nation. It's been a slowly growing problem that has now accelerated under both Bush2 & Obama. The vague "War on Terror' was expertly used by the big government statists to take away our freedoms. Both the Ds & Rs in politics did it to us (except for a few like Ron Paul that consistently voted against it & tried to warn us of it... but his was a "voice crying out in the wilderness" & few heard it). Listen America: stop voting for more big government Progressives in either major party. They are brainwashed, bought by the Power Elite or both. They trample on the Constitution to obtain their big statist ideas. Vote only for small government, Constitution-loving politicians... even if you have to go 3rd Party to do so. Don't trust the MSM, check out your facts & ideas on the Internet. The ideas in the Constitution can't be killed. But the implementation of them in our government is just about dead. We just have to elect into office people that will start to uphold the Constitution, not ignore & trash it.

We aren't just living in a "post-constitutional" country...we're living under a communist dictatorship, folks. Mark Levin can't seem to utter the word, "COMMUNIST"...neither can any of the other so-called conservative news media...nor will they ever utter the truth that Obama is an illegitimate POTUS. Just think of all the pain and suffering that would have been avoided in this country if the GOP, the judicial system, the FBI & CIA had obeyed the Constitution and upheld their oaths of office and arrested this poser 3 yrs. ago! And, if by some crazy chance Obama declares Martial Law as this year's "October surprise", the fault will lie with the castrated Congress and activist judges who refused to do something when they could have. This is exactly why both the First Amendment and the Second Amendment are the "first and second amendments. Congress has proven where they all stand - even Alan West, unfortunately. Be careful of Levin. He is either a terrible historian or he is trying to equate Neo Conservatism with John Locke instead of Hobbes. The case could not be farther from the truth. John Locke and Thomas Jefferson espoused Libertarian ideology, and Thomas Hobbes and Alexander Hamilton espoused Federalism (Central Planning) the roots of NeoConservatives, NeoLiberals, and Progressives. The US has been "Post Constitutional" since 1861, arguably sometime before. A constitution must be Limited (restricted) in scope by definition else it is Formless and without definition. The NeoConserrvatives, NeoLiberals, and Progressives all rely on an unrestricted Gov't to push their agendas. They do this redefinign the 'restriction' or limits placed on gov't mainly be declaring some emergency that requires limits to be ignored (i.e Social Security, NDAA, Patriot Act, SOPA, HUD, Dept of Education, and the list is far too great to list them all)
