I used to do something like that until Spring 2011 season, which had a ton of anime. I just couldn't find the time to watch the first couple of everything. Now if it looks at least mildly interesting, I'll watch it. If something I usually don't watch gets a lot of hype, I'll probably check it out. Such was the case with Madoka.
