Wow, there's a lot of hate in some of these comments. We don't know the circumstances. Perhaps the dead horse was on a blind curve or just over the crest of a hill, where it would have been impossible for the woman to see it in time.

I worked for 27 years for a utility company in Texas and I know all the line crew were instructed that should they strike a large animal and if after impact it was still on the roadway, they were to remain on the scene, block off the area to alert other drivers with cones and flares, then radio or call for assistance. They were not to leave the scene until the authorities were on site to deal with the carcass and had finished investigating the accident. They were also to wait until a company supervisor arrived on scene to fill out a report as well, unless otherwise instructed. This was to protect the public and to satisfy the company (and the insurance company) that the driver wasn't at fault for the accident. The driver leaving the scene of an accident, especially with the roadway blocked, is highly suspicious and unsafe.

Sounds like he needs to have a sleep study done and get a CPAP machine. My husband used to have night terrors due to sleep apnea, where he would have a dream that was so vivid, he would get out of bed and act on it, all while still asleep but was never violent. One night he started pushing me out of bed while yelling, "Don't hurt Zoe! Leave her alone!". He almost had me pushed all the way out of bed by the time I was finally able to wake him. He had been dreaming that I was someone else and that person was trying to hurt me, Zoe. He was fighting with my attacker in his sleep. After that he went for a sleep study and got a CPAP machine, it really helps. No more getting up at night wandering the house and no more pushing or shouting out in his sleep.

There was a man in England who strangled his wife last year in his sleep. He was devastated and had no memory of doing this. It was only the next morning when he woke up that he discovered what had happened. He had been having sleep apnea episodes for years but was never violent. The court found him not at fault and he was not prosecuted for her death.

It's not the bond companies fault. It's the judges fault for setting bail. If you feel a person is a flight risk or is on the verge of three strikes (pending conviction) then deny bail!!!!

First of all, we don't know what caused the landslide. It could have been caused by the activity in the gravel pit for one thing. Now we've cut a channel through that mud slide and that is what is draining the water from where the fish are at the moment. That's not natural so why should the fish not be given a fighting chance.

Secondly, humans negatively impact fish every day with our activities and pollution. So we need to try to save as many fish as we possibly can. Especially the ones humans have driven onto the endangered list.

Falling Water has to be the most beautiful of his houses. Not just the setting but the interior also puts it above the others.

Sounds like the pastor is not exactly honest on his own plans for the area. He said, "He's convinced a big developer is behind the fight with his neighbors, and doesn't want to lose the seclusion he has set aside for a camp for homeless families."

Yet according to the minutes of Dec. 9, 2008 on the ResponseAbilityBuilders website, they are planning on building houses on the 10 acres the pastor owns on Tiger Mountain. I've pasted part of the minutes below, along with the link to the web page.

"Eddy’s idea was born when he went to Florida to help people whose housing was destroyed by Hurricane Andrew. Eddy developed and patented a “little house”, built on jigs by volunteers, that met all necessary building codes, was movable, self -contained and eco friendly. Perhaps most staggering of all, volunteers built 300 houses in an average of 17 person hours per house. That’s really fast."

"The plan for King County is this: the Fowler-Lindners live in a “little house” (cute and comfortable as can be!) on 10 acres on Tiger Mountain, in Issaquah. They offer this property to Response Ability Builders who is building a larger “earth structure” that will house the first 6 homeless youth. These youth will build a little house village on site, while setting up jigs to build other “little houses” for others. The youth will get to keep their own little house after a period of apprenticeship, which is simultaneously a service to others in two ways: 1) by helping them to learn to build their own homes 2) serve in various Response Ability Builders projects. An example of such a project might be developing a public park for the county or city at a much lower cost than other contractors would need to charge."

I've watched a relative die a slow, excruciating death from cancer. The cancer was so far advanced when it was discovered, there was nothing they could do to treat it. They gave her drugs for the pain but drugs can only do so much and she was in constant pain for almost a year before she died. I swore I would never wish that on anyone and if they don't want to have to suffer through that, then they shouldn't have to. It's their life, you can't know what they are experiencing so you can't judge them or decide for them. All people should have the right to die with dignity and only they can know what's best for them.
