I must be one of the few who really enjoyed the place. Predictable food, yes, but certainly one of the healthier fast-food options in the area. I will definitely miss their 'street pitas'.

It sounds like a great project, and I really hope it will succeed, both in terms of reach and staying true to its core values.

But as the saying goes, "If you're not paying, you're the product". Those VCs will want an exit at some point, what is the game here?

Ok, my crude joking aside... I actually have a lot of respect for vegans. I am not willing to become one myself, but I salute everybody who has the discipline to make it work. There is no question it is better for animals and the environment overall.

That being said, we all have a long lasting negative effect on 'nature' by just being alive. It all comes down to where we draw the line. Most people care about the environment/animals/social justice in some form, but don't want to give up certain guilty pleasures as they live their short lives : eat meat, drive a big car, use planes to travel... even access the internet. Do you realize how much suffering the production of those electronics causes across the world? Not to mention the energy consumption... everything we do has a footprint, we can adjust its size.

And to answer your question above, no, I do not condone rape or robbery... I also promise not to eat any humans.

Same goes for the affordable housing program... it is being abused left and right. A couple can get a unit on a single salary without any repercussions when the partner gets a job, too, potentially doubling its household income. Our neighbors are renting their affordable unit out at market rate which is perfectly legal for up to a year. Total BS, the rest of us suckers are paying for this.

But could we 'attach some strings' to social services? Wether it is doing small chores or personal development tasks, prioritization could be based on who is willing to make an effort.
