Tried a reset of everything. What worked for me: Turn the iphone to airplane mode. Turn it off (coldstart) and on again. Turn airplane mode back on and voil'a. Good luck! Now, many readers here are not lucky enough to live in the USA and are not able to go to i.e. Radio Shack. Like others, I've spent quite some time googling and searching on eBay. Perhaps the thing is called differently in other countries (of course there's also the translation problem) Before Apple closes this opportunity I would like to ask the admins whether it would make sense to open up a new thread just regarding the phonecard sim, or whatever they may be called. Would a so called "Test SIM" do it as well? Who knows? In my opinion many users stuck on the emergency screen would be helped with a detailed solution here. Even with an AT&T Phone and corresponding SIM Card the activation does not work when not in the US. So it seems from reading all the posts on this and other blogs.....
