Thank you for the very understandable explanation. Politicians have not usually shown a willingness to get out ahead of their constituents and ask for sacrifice today to avoid greater future pain. Is it possible that enough voters will recognize spending growth as an issue to convince the political class to take preemptive action (as is being done today with climate change - whether or not it is real)?
