20-30 more trains per day? It's going to be hard to get any sleep if you live in Bingen!

WS Enterprise : City can now issue water hook-ups

No increase in water rates please--people in White Salmon already pay more for water than just about anywhere else in the country. The city should sell the new hookups for a lot more than a measly 5K--at least enough to recoup the costs of the additional infrastructure and water rights needed to provide them, and probably more in order to get the city coffers back in the black.

Hood River News : Warm Springs to temporarily move casino to Hwy. 26, "continue to pursue" Cascade Locks site

Maybe Warm Springs can figure something out with Wood Village? Measure 75 failed but that was with a private corporation--I think people would support an Indian casino there. It is far outside and downstream of the CGNSA. And it is closer to Portland $$.

WS Enterprise : Bingen backs SDS wind energy proposal

Take a drive out to Maryhill if you want to see what Snowden/Husum/Underwood will look like in 10 years if this passes and becomes precedent. Any land near the BPA lines and outside of the NSA will be fair game for a turbine.

WS Enterprise : Respond to census

If you have a PO Box in White Salmon instead of a street address, you didn't get a census form. That is what the post office told me. That probably explains the low turnout--I'd guess 60% of the households in White Salmon are in the city and use PO Boxes. You can request a form from the census at 1‐866‐872‐6868.
