Hating Overboard would be akin to hating puppies. It's just wrong. :) Another plus in the movie is the always gracious and incredible Roddy MacDowall.

Soldier was awesome. It's very hard for an actor to do drama and comedy well, and Kurt can do both admirably. Man, now I want to see Overboard. :)

Avery Brooks doesn't consider it acting, it's ACTING. I've seen him at a few convention panels and, boy, is he long winded. :) Every little aspect of filming and acting is, to him, incredibly monumental and fundamental. Still, he comes off as a nice guy, but methinks he thinks too highly of the craft.

BTW, I have nightmares of being trapped at a panel with him and Edward James Olmos. They can take a single easy question and take 10 minutes to answer it with lots of deep societal, political, and philosophical ramifications of why their character ate muffins as opposed to bagels.

Never dare to dream! Sadly, I don't think they'll find many more episodes in the future. It still blows my mind that the original Dalek story was only a few feet away from being incinerated.

Don't forget that the merchandising from the movie made tons of money. It's probably safe to say that they made far more from the merchandising (action figures and such) than box office receipts.
