Repeat Offenders #4 -John A Garrison doesnt think the red light cameras catch speed violations as well, even though the gazette and other local media outlets have made it no secret the cameras are there for more the just red lights (based of the record if you search for him in the database, he obviously thinks the north bound I-380 at diagonal dr is only for red light violators too apparently) lmao - his bulb does not glow brightly im afraid

I've been in the Crowne Plaza lately. Third floor around the U.S. Cellular Center was leaking, a lot of the suspended ceiling was missing (had a white sheet stapled up in places) when I went to the 16th floor, there is still a bar there. Had like 2 people in it both times i went. The view isnt anything to right home about. On the south side, you can see the smokestack and mount trashmore, on the north side, as expected, quaker oats takes up most the view. I really dont know why anyone would stay there for the view. And there really isnt much downtown to do. The arena is small by today's standards. However, it would make for a decent casino. which would probably get the 54% room rental, and bring in a decent amount of income for the city as well as possibly start a downtown regeneration.

Keep reporting on him, Gazette. Not only is it the responsibility of the paper, its good for other kids to see what happens when things get out of control. There is no "new game" button in life. Do the crime, your gonna do the time, despite your attempts to get out of it one way or another. This is the justice system working, and believe me, there's plenty of times when it doesnt. Why not report it?

Cedar Rapids is about a 1/4th of the NATIONAL crime average, des moines is about 1/2. It really doesnt get much safer then Cedar Rapids when it comes to crime. Its on par with mayberry, call andy or barney..they will tell you.

I grew up here in Cedar Rapids but moved away in the late 90's, for work, to New Orleans and then Detroit I just moved back last fall for work here. In my 12 years absence, it seems like crime has grown a little here, but in truth C.R. is the safest place I have ever lived in. Both N.O. (the only city where a police officer on duty has killed another police officer during the commission of a crime) and Detroit (where people get killed every day and it doesn't make the news because its so common) are far worse then Cedar Rapids will ever be. I know most of you are just firing off and joking about it, but you all should be happy you live in a place where crime is far below the national average. Most of the violent crimes i have seen in the news here is drug related. If you don't do, sell, or possess drugs..then you're safe.

Only FIRST tri-mester abortion is legal, Second Trimester Abortion can only be done in certain medical situations where the mother's life is at risk. If this woman was past 12 weeks, its a valid charge. However, she needs help apparently, and hopefully the courts can make sure she gets it, as well as a guilty verdict.

around 16-21 counties in southern iowa (mostly on the border) do allow center fire rifle deer hunting. Of course Elgin (in Fayette county) does not allow it...
