Brightkite Blog : Survey Says...

Please, please, please don't start adding games. Seriously? If you want to play games, go to Facebook. Leave Brightkite to the people who are serious about meeting PEOPLE and making FRIENDS, not throwing useless virtual "crap" at them. There are plenty of gaming sites on the web, just invite your BK fans there and you'll see how many people really care about games. Guys, just focus on the location and comment posting services, please.

Brightkite Blog : Brightkite will be back online today

A year from now, we'll all sit back and have a good belly laugh about this whole thing. Mostly at ourselves for being so damned impatient. =)

Brightkite Blog : "The only good bug is a dead bug."

Twitter has a status page, status.twitter.com, where they post known issues and what they're doing to resolve them. It even has the uptime stats reported from Pingdom. This gives the users a single place to go for downtime status without having to sift through numerous blog posts and wait for responses from the moderators like "We're working on the issue...", which doesn't tell us anything useful. For the last 3 days, that's been the status. How about something more concrete? How about adding a similar status page to the BK site? Just a few extra details should cut down the number of frustrating posts considerably. I'm here to back you guys 100%. I'm not considering ditching Brightkite, and neither should you all. What I saw of the upgrade looked very promising, so I can't wait to see it return. Have faith, give the team time to get things right, and stick around for a while.

And "Limbo is now Brightkite" according to the site. They're forwarding to a known broken website this morning. That's either poor planning on the Limbo team's part, or they're just about ready to bring BK back online. I'm hoping for the latter.
