I will reject the SS and Medicare as soon as the govt. agrees to pay me the sum I would have earned had the money been invested in the free market over the same period of time. As of my 62nd birthday that amount would be about $1.75 million. I could then take that and buy a fixed annuity which would pay approx 6 times my SS payment. Enough to buy a really good gold plated healthcare plan and live a comfortable life. Once again your weak liberal thinking prevents you from dealing with facts. Ayn Rand's philosophy of objectivism comes from her experience living under a communist state as a young woman and the differences she saw when she came to be free. I suggest her intellectual ability is vastly superior to Marx as he never lived under a communist state. But the Obama's intellectual ability seems to come from "God Damn America" thinking. I know that liberal/progressive/socialist's think themselves to be the smartest in the room, but their hubris prevents them from researching both sides of any story and their logic lays flat. I have yet to have a conversation with a liberal who when faced with empirical evidence did not take the tact of "don't confuse me with facts I know what I believe". I quit going to TED.com years ago. It is a clearing house of liberal ideas and never attempts to investigate any counter information to the stuff it proposes. But it might be a good place to find out what new flavors of Kool-aid are being cooked up.
