The Clean Air Act is all about the money. Only a few counties in our state have to live by it now, and folks will be shocked when they learn, through this oppressive regulation, that they can no longer drive cars with the CHECK ENGINE light burning. Oh, you CAN drive them as long as you pay $800 a year to prove that you tried to repair it (or $400 to somebody to forge proof that you paid $800), but it's just a simple step to demand that the car be retired.

That's far more oppressive than insurance laws, when they say no to your beater.
