Parents have an obligation to shape their children. I took my kids to church (even when they didn't want to go) and I prevented them from doing some things they wanted to do because I have a responsibility to shape their character. A teacher has absolutely no business shaping anyone's kids but their own - and not in class. A teacher has no business introducing new moral concepts to my kids or challenging any of their moral assumptions about anything. But that is what colleges have become: left wing seminaries where a teacher thinks it is his job to recalibrate students' moral compasses.
