I know some players are late developers but we have too many 20-21 year olds which are we are still waiting for to be the next big thing. For me it if you did not make an impact at that age you're not going to be a star for sure. a good player maybe, but not a star. I also agree that previous managers had the 'luxury' to develop players but during our recent relegation and promotion battles this was impossible. (many hammers fans were not happy with a comfortable 9th place finish under curbishley....which give you an opportunity to develop!!) As for TC i adore the guy but many of his latest stars to be are struggling to find a place in championship, L1 & L2 squads which says a lot about their quality. Stars????? what did these guys do exactly to deserve this title which untill a few years ago was reserved for players like maradona, platini, lineker, rush etc. We are made to believe that we our academy is still producing a 'good number' of stars each season. We all know its not true. After the early 90's bunch of ferdinand, lampard, cole, carrick and later defoe and johnsson i do not recall us producing premiership players......maybe with the exception of noble and tomkins but still we were made to believe that sears, n'gala, stanislas, hines were going to be the next big thing.
