@Major Hayden: I'm sure that they would love addition direct download mirrors. To give you an idea of traffic, while I was Slashdotted it was 1 - 1.5TB per day, normally downloads are usually about 100GB per day.

@Will Hughes: At this point the bill is at $1988.25, however the billing period isn't over, so I just have their sketchy expense tracker to monitor this one, and it's always 48+ hours out of sync. So I don't have a final charge yet.

To those who donated: It was greatly appreciated... thank you.

To those with advice for dealing with 1and1: It was also appreciated, I'm currently waiting on a response from them (been waiting 24 hours at this point)... I'm hoping to hear back on Monday.

Thanks for the comments. There was an incident a little while back... got hit before I upgraded wordpress... I cleaned it as soon as I found it.

Unfortunately I can't. The college paid me to develop the program for them, so they own it.

They put out a service that takes a binary, packs it with 10 packers, and tests it against 10 AVs... once again, they only thing they have done is prove that signature based AV is ineffective in even the most basic of circumstances.

There's no strawman argument here, because their research is on par with the airplane and not with the atomic bomb. There's no need to feel guilt and no unreasonable negative impact.

To steal from Dre's comments... I also am not making it to Shmoocon this year and to steal from Andrew, I'm also Canadian... And I posted before either of them. Everyone knows you always select #1 :)

I think I'm the most deserving because this is a Con that I wouldn't otherwise attend, I'd be more than happy to blog continuously and there are some talks I really want to see.

As well, unless IntenseDebate has screwed up I'm the first one to comment :)

Thanks for pointing that out, I happened to stumble across it in apt and just used apt-get. Apparently it's rather outdated. I've grabbed 0.9.0 from the twyt website and will modify the code to use it this evening.

If you want the Microsoft explanation of why, it's here -- http://www.microsoft.com/tag/content/overview/.They do seem to have some points that make sense. Other sites make similar points or list other reasons why these codes excel over QR codes.

Alan,
This demonstrates some really poor taste.
