The healthcare industry pushed up prices because people were so detached from the costs that they were happy to get loads of treatment they didn't need "just in case". They won't even give me an estimate of how much it will cost because they want to hide it from their competition! So now we are paying almost double what other countries pay and the recovery rates are much lower.
