This is so good. Man, I love your vulnerability and authenticity. We willingly choose accountability when our desire to change eclipses our fear of being found out.

John, I was also bummed that we didn't meet. *sigh* I was really looking forward to changing the world with you guys before breakfast. The good news is, we didn't secretly meet somewhere without you. ;) The better news is that when this team meets, we can't imagine meeting without you.

Rodlie,

Thanks for swinging by. We'll get on the "about" page. You are exactly right. We're just a couple of dudes starting out this journey and haven't gotten to it yet (not having a decent "about" page probably gives that away). Thanks for the comment.

A woman can be a powerful motivator. ;) "Not for the right reasons..." is something I'm going to touch on in the next post (or two). Here's a preview: reading the bible isn't the end; it's a mean to the end. More to come...Thanks for sharing.

Dude. If you set up the auto transfers for this, I want a run down on the party you throw!

My wife and I have talked about this as a dream of a goal. Barely a dream, nowhere near a goal, but a VERY intriguing concept to imagine.

Thanks, Erin. Thanks also for being a part of the conversation that moved this idea through germination.

I love this, Scott. One of the things I do to slow down is making a solid effort every evening to leave my laptop in the car and my phone out of sight. It helps me be fully present with my family.

Way to go, Scott. I'd like to hit that mark one day.

Thank you for the thoughts, SR. I love this line you wrote, "it is easy to let technology drive the process and actually inhibit progress." I agree that we need to keep our eyes on the mission of making disciples.

Through this thread, I think that what's becoming clearer to me is that the question "How do we use web technology to make disciples?" is a good question; the better question is, "What do we observe historically--in meatspace (offline)--about how are disciples made? How do we enable that online?" The answers to the "good" question seem to be centered around tools; the answers to the "better" question are more about behaviors. The Fast Company article is convincing me that understanding the behaviors is the better insight.
