There is generally 3 formats of monetising a blog:
1. Affiliate marketing - promoting products and services on behalf of third parties for a commission on every sale generated.
2. Direct and indirect advertising - where you sell advertising space on your website yourself or a third party does that on your behalf.
3. Own products/services - you offer in-house services/products for a fee...this is sustainable since you have total control of your destiny unlike depending on other companies for survival, meaning if they go out of business you're affected as well.
