West Ham Till I Die : Match Thread: West Ham v Southampton

Well still a point clear plus game in hand and with only 10 men against one of the better teams in the league and one of the worst set of match officials, could have been better but would have settled for a draw with all that against us. Still good bet for automatic promotion COYI !

West Ham Till I Die : Does the Right Hand Know What the Left Hand is Doing?

I agree, untill mathematically we can't stay up I live in hope of another great escape, allthough my head is slightly over ruling my heart after last weekends results. I was showing the Wolves WBA game in club I run on Sunday lunchtime and had a family in from Wolverhampton and pre match we were talking about the prospect of relegation, for possibly both teams and how competitive the Championship is with virtually 80% of the teams capable of being involved in the promotion challenge. Also the earlier posting of Academyhammer concerning the QPR and Norwich players not even making our bench I do agree with that statement. I took my nephew who is a season ticket holder at Norwich to the Manure game and he could not beleive the difference in style and the speed of play he saw that day. So if the worse happens and we go down I beleive we have the quality to make a rapid return. One of the worse things about relegation is all the stick and p*** taking that I will have to endure from my club members, the majority of them are Canary supporters. COYI

Great piece ECH, agree with every thing you said I have been lucky enough to see all the greats since the days of Bobby Moore, and their are not many players from todays game that can be mentioned in the same sentence as Moore, Bonds and Brooking, the stand out trio in my time of watching the irons, to be honest I did'nt think there could be another player to add to that triumvirate of greats but step forward Scott Parker, I'm not sure what a fourth member makes a triumvirate but Scotty is part of it. Thank's for everything Scott and like every West Ham fan my thoughts are with you at this sad time.

West Ham Till I Die : The Folly of Leaving Matches Early!

Living on North Norfolk coast, plus work commitments I can't get to as many games as I would like to. So whenever I can get to a home game which is generally about 8 a season there is no way I would dream of leaving bfeore the players have left the pitch. Even though I have the 120 odd mile drive home! Why do people do it? Would they leave the cinema or theatre before the end of a performance? This is illustrated perfectly by the Manchester City game, I went with a mate who is a Man City fan, and I did feel like leaving him at Barking and let him find his own way home ! after the game we called into William Hill in Green Street for him to pick up his winnings, by this time the queue for Upton Park station was well down bottom of road, so I suggested we walk to Plaistow and get tube to Barking from there. On the platform there a guy asked us who scored the last goal as he left early to get train !!! Duh am I missing something here we stayed, saw Tomkins header, called in at bookie's, ambled along to Plaistow and still got on same train as him.

West Ham Till I Die : BBC: Hammers Get Olympic Stadium

This is what is needed for WHU a top quality stadium for what we all hope will become a top quality established Premier League team, I beleive the atmosphere created with 45,000 - 50,000 + every home game and the extra revenue will propel us on to be a club who will be pushing for that Champions League place. I was so pleased last January when Mr Gold, Mr Sullivan and Ms Brady took control it was on their agenda it always seemed an obvious move to me. Plus purely from a personal angle it will be so much easier coming down on train from Norwich. COYI

West Ham Till I Die : Guest Post by Lee Byron: Uneasy Feelings, a Few Thoughts, and a Plea

Yeah agree Hodgson would be good, I'd like to see the Dave's and Karren go for Paul Lambert, just gotta hope that Norwich don't get promotion and we stay up, I think Lambert will look to move on and test himself in Premier League... plus he still has house in Colchester !!!
