Who can blame them?

Politics in most places is about making lives better somehow - here it's all dog whistle rhetoric, pointless tribal loyalties and whatabouttery.

If you're young and capable, go somewhere higher on the Human Development Index: I recommend Canada, or anywhere Scandinavian. Look for the skills that are in demand in those countries - nursing, engineering etc. Get some of those skills while you're young, and fast track yourself towards a Visa and eventual citizenship of a country that doesn't cling to sectarianism and call it 'culture'.

Sweet Jesus, Clegg.

Please step down and allow someone else to take over the liberal/progressive mantle - as it is, you're setting back the cause by decades and enabling the likes of Cameron, Osborne and Farage.

By the way, the medical community (by which I mean doctors, not 'alternative' practitioners) haven't considered homosexuality a mental illness for some decades now.

Yes, how dare they try to 'ride paramount' over our views by shamelessly kissing in public!

Next they'll be expecting the vote and the right to free association, almost as if they were actual human beings! Such times we live in, where those who aren't white, Anglo-Saxon straight protestant males have the temerity to insist on some kind of equal footing in society.

Hard to win an argument without facts, isn't it?

There's no right to act as the taxi driver did - there IS however a law called the Equality Act which outlaws discrimination based on sexual orientation.

You lose, homophobe.

Quote a specific law, statute or common law precedent, which codifies this right you speak of.

I keep asking this and you keep failing to provide: WHAT RIGHT ARE YOU REFERRING TO?

Show us which law applies!

"I just don't like people using their 'gay rights' to abuse the rights of others"

Which right of the taxi man were they violating, by kissing, exactly?

This is an issue of discrimination though: you can have issue with two students kissing in class because it's a classroom, and it'd be disruptive to other pupils' learning (regardless of sexual orientation, as you say).

In the cab, it's different: it disrupts nothing for two people to kiss in the back seat of a cab, and straight people have been doing that for as long as the internal combustion engine has existed (longer if we're counting horses and carts here!) without complaint. This is obviously because the two were GAY and kissing.

What on earth are you blathering on about?

The Equality Act NI Regulations 2006 makes it illegal to discriminate in providing goods and services to anyone based on sexual orientation.

The taxi driver doesn't have any 'right' that trumps that law, therefore you're full of it.
