So if I name someone, and said they did it, you'd just up and kill them? Cool, I can think of several people who might have done it - can you waste them all? Would they need to make an appointment?

A Crime like this needs a carefully run trial - you go all lynch mob on someone, then all of a sudden everyone involved is really invested in convincing themselves they got the right one - while the real monster slinks off to find his next victim.

Trials aren't just to protect the accused, they also make sure you get the right S o a B to punish.

The fact that they were in a position to try a play like that to beat Nebraska in OT is enough to keep him in Ames a few more years. Especially in a year when they beat Texas as well. Now if the fans get used to this, he'll need to keep upping the bar.

Come on guys, it's working out swell in places like Somalia!

Really people, this is asking pet owners to take up a little bit of the burden that is now being spread across all tax payers. Remember that your pet's license can be used to identify them, so if they get loose and are picked up by animal control, it will be easy for them to contact you. I'm not sure if there is a fee for "bailing out" Rover or Fluffy in that situation, but if there is, they should set it low for licensed pets, and higher for unlicensed ones. It's been that way for years in other cities in Iowa. Think of it as freeing up some tax money to be used for something that impacts the whole community.

Between Chuck and Steve King out in Western Iowa, I think this "I won't debate because the other guy hasn't earned it" thing is pretty pathetic. I guess Grassley is afraid of getting called out for jumping on Palin's "Death Panel" wagon - and King, well maybe he's just afraid everyone will notice that he's actually a raving loon. Iowa deserves better then cowards that can't spare time to actually debate the issues in a public forum. Go back to preserving your focus on the "message", but don't expect my vote.
