That is so true, Kvatch. It is a start and pretty much what I expected- No. I actually didn't expect them to do one damn thing, but it is a meager start and we will have to continue to point out the facts to their lying eyes.

A POETIC JUSTICE : War & Peace - Gustav Holst

Laurel, According to "Universe Today" 1. It needs to be in orbit around the Sun – Yes, so maybe Pluto is a planet. 2. It needs to have enough gravity to pull itself into a spherical shape – Pluto…check 3. It needs to have "cleared the neighborhood" of its orbit – Uh oh. Here's the rule breaker. According to this, Pluto is not a planet. The description in the post was taken directly from the "about" section of You Tube, correlated with the videos. It was a controversial decision to remove Pluto as a planet. I do not know who is right or if Pluto will again be a full blown planet or remain a dwarf planet The only thing I am certain about is that I appreciate your input.

A POETIC JUSTICE : The Opposite of Peace Is — War?

Time, We certainly agree on that one- violence can and has in cases made the world better- or should I say safer. My problem with the idea that violence has made the world safer is that it may have, but it's never been made (to my knowledge) safer aggressively or preemptively, only defensively. Any war of aggression has not made things better in the least, but perhaps, oddly enough, the final outcome, has.

A POETIC JUSTICE : The Opposite of Peace Is — War?

Time, I understand the reality and wasn't disagreeing with you per se. (The argument may largely depend on if you're the aggressor or you're the victim, the victor or defeated.) I was not implying that you're a warmonger and I understand why you would not agree with a peacemaker who says that war is an act of ignorance, only, of course, those wars that are truly defensive, on the part of only one side. See the problem is that all wars are waged because of an act of violence (or war) against another by an aggressor, which in truth, when seen through that particular lens, it is understandable to say that war solves nothing. As for this country in particular, it, the land which became the US of A, was conquered through violence. "Discovered" to have been previously "occupied", which used brutality to "tame" (slaughter) her indigenous peoples and open the land for our ancestors. It was an invasion. It certainly wasn’t what you’d call a "war of defense", unless you were an original native of this land. (But to argue the reasoning behind that particular slaughter in this thread would prove rather pointless.) Bear with me, Time. The adage "Violence is a tool of ignorance" is one I certainly agree with, as I'm sure do you, but when someone or some country starts a war and another enters it (defensively) because of the other country's aggression it still stands to reason that violence and war solve nothing, right? (Maybe it should be "Starting a war solves nothing"...?) - I mean if you're on the receiving end of defeat and you started the war it obviously proved ignorant and solved nothing for having done so, right? - And if you are on the side of victory while defending your land and the loss of life was great it can be seen as both, a victory in a much needed defense and pointless for the other side. - On the other hand it can be seen solely as a pointless event that needn't have happened in the first place if the defeated gained nothing and the victor lost many lives, right? Okay. - Let's say that the defeated lose countless lives and gain nothing and the victor, defending themselves, suffers not one casualty...is it still to be seen as necessary to have waged the "war" to begin with? - No. Of course not, it was necessary to defend, but not to offend. See? - (You might think I am redefining the term “war”, after all it needs two sides, eh?) - I think if war is looked at for what it is it is easier to conclude that (starting) war solves nothing. - It is not so black and white when one is talking about defending oneself against a "warring" state. - (It, a conclusion, may prove awkward, depending on what we define war as.) After that long winded reply, I will say this, “Starting a war of aggression solves nothing and is a tool of ignorance.” Peace… o.0
