I guess I should clarify that the small group I meet with actually only meets every other week, so that's really half a chapter per week. I think if you set aside the time to read more and make it your mission, it will happen. There's always more we CAN do.

That bothers me endlessly, when people in a small group won't commit to more than a chapter a week. I mean, really? Come on.

My favorite is "for we are the fragrance of Christ, a sweet smelling aroma to those who are being saved and to those who are perishing." (2 Corin. 2:15) It's not used as often and provides better imagery for me. :)

It sounds like Anne Rice has become disenchanted with people who are missing the point in Christianity. By having this attitude, though, she is missing the point as well. We're all guilty of being deaf to Christ and putting more focus on what we believe rather than how we behave. "True religion is this: taking care of orphans and widows in their distress."

I'd like to get a copy of that. Did he become a Christian after the experiment?

That sounds like a really interesting book. Was he conducting a social experiement and then wrote a book about it?

The phrase I hear most frequently is "you've got plenty of time, honey." By saying that, it's as if people think that I actually don't have plenty of time, but they want to reassure me of that which they are so concerned about.

One time someone asked me when we were doing my wedding. At the time, I was not even dating anyone? What a thoughtless thing to say. I simply replied, "when I find someone worth marrying," and walked away.
