Kevin it was the 1960 Democrat racist holdovers who thwarted this town. Without their interference, the town would have likely been successful. Eisenhower enacted the Civil Rights Act of 1957, the father of all modern day legislation, but then Senator Kennedy wanted the teeth taken out of it, and it wasn't enough. Later Dirksen (Republican) engendered the 1964 Civil Rights Act, and 1965 Voting Rights Act.

You're right, Rick. Blacks are leaving the city. There is a stat that says the population of St. Louis is lover than it was in 1870. Talk about going the wrong direction!
