Congress should not be in charge of voting for their own salaries. I think that during these troubling times, Congress should agree to a 10% pay cut. They should not get special priviledges for being in congress. After all, they are our "servants". Pay should be based on "merit" an increased by performance. They should have term limits...no more career politicians.

I remember when Madalyn Murray O'Hare had the Bible banned in schools in the 60's. Next, was the passage of Roe v Wade and from then on our schools have declined steadily, because our familys and morals have declined. Our problems are essentially spiritual in nature. Isn't greed one of the mortal sins? The only REAL way for our nation to be restored is through the hearts of our citizens. That won't be easy, it will take a miracle. It will have to be a real move of God. Glenn Beck has introduced his list of principles which are based on the Judeo-Christian ethic. It's a start. We can't expect all to be well in a country that has slaughtered over 40 million unborn for convenience and lack of anything like a human conscience.

Hey, you've hit on what I think just may be the BIGGEST reason for the financial crisis. Fanny and Freddie loaned to illegals, the infrastructure is crumbling because of the population increase, medical costs are skyrocketing, taxes have to be increased to meet the financial burdens. The list goes on and on. Just think about it. Check out the video below to see how just one hospital in Florida has been affected.

Your feelings are probably universal among Christians who really want to be led by God in all we do. Just like in all of life's decisions, what we must do is pray, then, as Glenn says, "follow your gut". I think that's where God speaks to me. By the way, He is always speaking.
