Anyone can be a corporate executive, so that doesn't mean much...all you have to do is pay a little money to get incorporated and "poof" you're a corporate executive. I'm CEO of my own corporation as well, set up in a manner that allows for fair distribution of wealth among the employees, without exploiting workers.

As for clothing and food...the labels I see everywhere say China, Indonesia, Thailand, etc. I see clothing and other items that are not the result of your freedom to choose but rather the decision to exploit workers in other countries who have a lower standard of living and who don't have to be paid much (they go on living in 3rd world conditions while we enjoy their products). I have account after account (published), as well as videos, of the working conditions of those who make our clothes and products, as well as their living conditions. These are workers who have been exploited by U.S. corporations in the pursuit of profit over people. These corporations are not interested in the lives of these workers. They are only interested in squeezing more profit out of revenue to fill the pockets of those at the very top.

Capitalism fails every 7 years...don't believe me...research it. Every 7 years the Capitalist system goes bust...what we have experienced since December of 2008 is the 7th year bust. If Capitalism works so well, why can the markets not correct themselves as Capitalism assumes? If Capitalism works so well, why does China own billions in dollars of our debt? Isn't China Communist? If Capitalism works so well, why did the taxpayers - the workers (not the Corp Execs or the rich ruling class) - have to bail out the financial institutions and the U.S. auto industry?

The problem with the current system is that only a few can increase wealth, as their is only so much wealth. As that few increase their wealth, they do so by exploiting the opportunity of others. If you do the math, and think this through logically, you'll see that you can't have everyone get rich. You'll also find that getting rich requires workers. And so on. Spend some time thinking about the world around you, instead of on your self, and you will realize what I'm talking about.

Capitalism is a system of greed, war, coups, individualism (look that up), and exploitation. Only with a system of true Socialism (not Nazism, Fascism, Maoism, or Stalinism, which are all more like the current U.S. government than anything) can ALL have a standard of living that is fair and just. Only with a system of true Socialism can the promise and power of true DEMOCRACY work for the people, instead of the Capitalist system that works for the ruling class (especially professional politicians and MNCs).

Agree that Stalin was a monster, as was Hitler. Stalin perverted the ideals of Socialism as embodied in the teachings of Marx, Trotsky, and Lenin. But America has many people starving to death today as well, and instead of it being for the "common good," it is for the good of the tiny ruling class.

So how well are you surviving? Are you living paycheck to paycheck? Do you own your own home? How's your salary? Have you had any bad checks lately, or been overdrawn in your bank account? Had any problems paying any bills?
Yes, I would say most people are just surviving, but you, as a survivor, defend the very system that has left most people merely surviving while the corporate executives and political officials (Right and Left) are thriving. Do you even know what it is you are defending?

Again, someone speaks without any use of critical thinking. If you do a little research, you will find that the "great possibility of Aids being cured" is not the United States, but most likely Asia, specifically Thailand.

Darwin's theory of evolution is biological. And if you think everything is about the survival of the fittest, then why is it that something as small as a mosquito can kill a human? If you jump into a pit of cobras, will you survive? Are they not at that point the fittest?
You confuse your "survival of the whitest" with Darwin's theory of evolution, and you do so in order to support your racist hatred and arrogance. What you propose is social Darwinism, which is not Darwinism at all. What you propose is based on one fallacy after another, and not on good reasoning skill or investigation.

I must apologize on behalf of Marx, Trotsky, and Lenin, for the remarks of this individual. What he states does not convey the spirit of the teachings of Marx, Trotsky, or Lenin, nor is it completely representative of true Socialism. While it is true that a clash between the ideologies of Socialism and capitalism is inevitable, and while it may come down to a militant confrontation in order to ensure the masses of the working class and the poor become the ruling class, the road to such a victory must not be paved with hatred and anger toward humankind but rather toward the ideals of capitalism that have led to the exploitation of the working class and the redistribution of wealth and power from the masses to the minuscule ruling class.

Marxists do not, nor have they ever, supported Nazis! To be honest, blind nationalism in the guise of patriotism is closer to Nazism than anything remotely truly Marxist or Socialist. Big American corporations were in league with the Nazis. How is that Marxism or Socialism? What you defend and protect is, in fact, the very thing you claim to hate.
I think you need to actually do some reading on history rather than blurb out a bunch of assumptions based on lack of education. Check your facts on your statement about Germany.

Interesting that those attacking the broadcast of THE PEOPLE SPEAK spend time here throwing empty words, threats, and ridiculous accusations, all while at the same time most likely not having seen or read anything by Howard Zinn...and possibly not anything biographical, autobiographical, or historical at all. What offends them is that there others who dare speak something different than the corporate-backed propaganda they normally get on the news (if they even watch the news). I have doubts any of them even watch the History Channel; they're just pissed off at the educated and informed. It's one thing to throw around weight against ideals and facts with empty rhetoric and hot-tempered comments, but it's an altogether different matter to engage in healthy debate based on data and historical fact. And why do they fear so much? What are they protecting? It is certainly not the Constitution or the Bill of Rights. Is it their wealth? I doubt any of those making such ludicrous comments are at all even close to wealthy. Is it their patriotism? Possibly, but patriotism to what exactly if not the Constitution?

Howard Zinn, and those interested in the broadcast of his The People Speak, including myself, are not anti-American because we disagree, and in many cases abhor, crimes committed by our Government past and present, crimes against the people, crimes against human rights, crimes against the poor and those in need of healthcare, crimes against those without jobs, crimes against those with jobs, crimes against those who even make the ludicrous comments above. Why is it patriotic to defend massacres of indigenous peoples to possess land and property in the name of Democracy? How is that type of patriotism any different than blind nationalism - that same nationalism that possessed the emotional brains of thousands of Nazis who committed atrocious crimes against Jews and others who were different?

And to threaten with a 2010 purge?! We are the public backlash, and you are representative of the radical groups who continue to support a government gone awry, a system of corporate greed and white supremacy. And you want to clean out academia and the government? So do we. Only difference between us is the objective. Our objective is true democracy and social, economic, and political justice. Your objective is to subject others to the tyranny of your hatred, racism, and ignorance.

Let the people decide. Let them watch this program. What do you fear? Do you think everyone is stupid and will buy into a lie? Or are you the only intelligent people to be able to determine for everyone else what is truth and what is not? Or is it simply that you cannot handle the truth? Possibly all of the above?
