Debate is great but as an American liberal Jew and Democrat who supports Israel,I say the Forward is wrong and I agree with PJC 180 ,I am withdrawing my support.I also resent those of us who support Israel being called Right wingers

I found the narrative in the article interesting and most of it historically correct .
It was disappointing and astonishing to read that Morton Klein would not allow Agudah a platform at the ZOA
As far as Torah reading helping the survival of Israel I seem to remember from the readings of my Hebrew School days that the Jews survived because of the ancient tribe who were strict adherents of the Torah
Is it possible the Orthodox Jews know what they are talking about

You also dismiss stereotypes of the Swiss and swedes and embrace the malignant misinformed one about the jews. Perhaps if the corrupt Palestinian leadership had built a state in 1948 and an economy for their people one could respect them
