I think that people who choose not to have children are often more informed than those who have children (whether by choice or accident). Case in point: my best friend recently said to me, "I can't understand why you don't want to have children. How can you not want an adorable little baby to cuddle and dress up in cute little baby clothes and buy toys for?" This struck me as an incredibly naive view of children, and also demonstrates her lack of awareness of the true essence of parenting.
