63,looks more like 93. Scary looking!!
Pretty sad when you pay one of the highest water rates in the nation, and you can't even drink the water without boiling it first.
As I've stated before I vote NO for schools, police, and fire services, and it isn't because I don't value them,I do so because it makes the monster bigger, meanwhile we get no added service, all the money goes to cover the pensions. Most private employers leave retirement planning to the employee, and the state should do the same. It doesn't work,it isn't ever going to work,so extreme change must be made. I don't think the system was ever intended to provide 6 figure payouts. It has to stop, because it WILL bankrupt the state,it's already started. State employee's are no better than your average Joe,and shouldn't get perks no other person would have, especially perks gotten from the average Joe. Everyone is out for themselves, and who can blame them, but somebody better wise up because this can't go on much longer, the ship is going down, and everyone is worried about themselves, when if they stopped and thought for just one second, the ship can be saved with a little self sacrifice.
What he did was wrong, illegal,he knows it,the damn police department knows,so what in the hell gives with "paid leave" crap, fire him,he more than deserves it.
Your right,I'd forgotten about that.
At this point I'm voting for someone new,Oregon went to hell under Defazio's watch, and all he can really seem to do is beg the feds for another timber payment, instead of actually doing something to bring jobs back to the area. Borrowing from Peter to pay Paul isn't doing us any favors, and it's more than time for some new blood in office. I think most closed minded Oregonians will still vote for Defazio because they fear republicans, only thing is the republicans here are pretty liberal. We can't continue on as we have,it hasn't,and will not work. We need new ideas, not the same old same old.
They closed the mental institutions because they thought the counseling worked and that these people could be trusted to take their meds,so most of that system is now gone, only it backfired, instead of being locked up in an institution they get locked up in jail, released, they offend again, and again,it's a cycle. All of this to save a buck and in the name of "human rights" ,like it is any great service to them to be free, little if any support, and left on the streets to clog up the court system and jails, and eventually die there. This didn't save us a dime,it's cost us more.
I don't know which is worse, the gas chamber,or some other method and drowning, all pretty bad ways to go,but as much as love animals,I'm on this guys side. The neighbors were warned. I have a beautiful backyard that I work very hard on,and it stinks like a litter box because of the strays and the neighbors who's cats roam, they see my indoor only cats and mark the doors and poo in my flower beds, and it's annoying. I have the one cat who is 10,never been let out to roam,if he goes out it's in a cage, and then I have a cat that just showed up and moved in a few years ago,she might go out if I do,but I don't let mine run free,I love them to much, and really can think of about a million other things I'd rather spend money on than the vet when the cat gets injured. If they start out as kittens indoors they'll never know what they are missing, and the older cats will adapt, these are house cats, not wild animals found in nature,so treat them like a pet.
This needs to be looked into by the state,Springfield rates I've been told are almost half of what they are in Eugene, and they've always been lower,so why is it costing more in Eugene? I really do not buy the excuse that they need to upgrade this or that and that their rates will be increasing,it never ends with them. Perhaps they should have put off the building in West Eugene? For a state with an abundance of water,we sure pay for it. Doesn't Portland have one of the highest water rates in the nation? If EWEB had a competitor the rates would go down over night, but since that's all we got we are at their mercy, and they sure don't seem to have much of that.
Creepy, and no doubt this is just the tip of the iceburg when it comes to this guys problems. Glad they caught him.
