I'm really excited for this movie, purely based on the fact that Stanton is directing. Every time I hear the guy talk about his movies (or movies in general) I can hear the excitement and passion in his voice that a lot of directors are 'too cool' (for lack of a better phrase) to have these days.
I haven't read the books, but plan on diving into them before this is released.

You want a good movie? Not just action? You realize that these are action films right? They're never going to give us a study of what it means to be human, asks questions like "can machines have a soul?" Or give us the physics of a robot turning into a freaking truck!

I purchased the first film on DVD recently and was kind of saddened that you can see the strings, it was such a magical movie to me when I was a kid and now it looks so....cheap. Still love it for sentimental reasons though.
I guess I'm okay with this remake, I'm glad they aren't changing the design drastically.
