Great news! Youth that we've invested in - and who have lived most their lives in America - can now make the most of their lives...as Americans. Working, contributing, and fighting for America. Great move by Obama, but he should make it permanent, not temporary.

Great to see people in our community speaking out against Wal-Mart's numerous flaws, including it's support of anti-immigrant candidates for office.

@JusticeSeeker - but Wal-Mart DID make a concession to demonstrators. That shows they can be swayed by public pressure. Will 1 event do it? No, but collective and continual pressure has paid off and will continue to do so.

Immigrants shop at Wal-Mart, but they don't want their money going to candidates and bills that hurt their communities (SB1070 in Arizona) or separate families (Secure Communities). Wal-Mart and the Walton Family Foundation dump millions into such candidates across the country.

Melting pot? Constitution? Give me your poor, your tired, your huddled masses? Ever heard of these things?

Maybe Tignino should get back to the books instead of spewing his ugly nationalist rants. I support his right to speak his mind, no matter how twisted, because I believe in the Constitution. And guess what, it's actually OK to be a Christian first and an American second, though his ranking system sounds pretty silly. I've always put God ahead of the current president of the U.S., whoever it is.

da98112 - finally someone talking some sense - a balance of reality and morality. great to see KOMO covering a raucus, diverse rally that reflects the America I'm proud of. my great grandparents were from Ireland, too, like McDermitt and this whole argument that the history of the country - built on the backs of immigrants - doesn't matter anymore and we should just close up shop and kick out the undocumented immigrants is both dispicable and detremental for all of us.

that high school student - who stayed out of trouble, worked hard, and then is rewarded with a bunch of hateful anger from commenters in here and told to "go home" when all he's ever known is America - and believes in the promise we all sell to the rest of the world - it's embarrasing. I say, welcome to America, thanks for your contribution, and let's build a better country together. I'm excited by the future of this country that the next Census will reflect and will join with those that were at this rally to work for reforms that make sense - and relfect our values.

While Bachmann becomes more isolated in Congress for her pointless maneuvers and loony talk, the rest of us living in reality will celebrate creating opportunities for people to access health care for themselves and their families. The Tea Party folks are the gift that keeps giving. Keep it up! And we'll get more bills passed that actually help Americans.

The real Bachmann is revealed - out of touch with reality and firing people up with hatred and lies instead of educating her constituency. She came out against the Census until she realized it could put her Congressional seat in jeopardy. How self serving. Thanks for posting ddaichiro!
