"the smirking, clueless media"
I thought this was really funny coming from you. That could be the name of your show.
Tom - I take your point. I was reluctant to post a comment because Victoria's post was obviously not dead on serious. As I read it - I felt bad for the shopkeepers though. I recently had a conversation in a bakery with an older lady who told me in great detail about FEMA concentration camps being built in our home state. She totally believed this and I think I stood there with the same look on my face as the shopkeepers. It can be very uncomfortable to watch an otherwise good person go on and on with conspiracy theories.
Right. Why do you assume I don't own any guns? Better yet why bring it up? It seems like I get this vague threat often when I post here. It doesn't scare me and it doesn't seem like much of a debating point either.
I am over here reading posts and comments on this blog. How many of you read the other point of view? I won't claim to have a completely open mind because lets face none of us do but at least I am aware of your views as they are and not as I am told they are.
"Now he’s going to kill sick people and old people" "Cap & Trade will allow the government to regulate how long we take a shower"
And you wonder why shopkeepers look at you like you are crazy? Get out of the fevered swamps Victoria this stuff is just silly.
I think the question is did you learn anything? The answer is obviously no if you think there was a distinct liberal response to 9/11 and differing conservative response. That was one moment that the whole country was together. Karl did everything he could to divide and conquer election after election and you bought it hook line and sinker.
Nation dividing wisdom like:
"Conservatives saw the savagery of 9/11 in the attacks and prepared for war; liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers."
Rove June 22, 2005
Rove has only taken this tone because it might work politically. Don't take the bait conservatives. Keep doing what you are doing.
I know this might be news to you but the military is part of the government. Funding it is part (a big part) of government spending. Here is another bit of news for you the military does not belong to the republican party. When will you republicans quit hiding behind the military? They are just not that into you.
Nice presentation but your premise is seriously flawed. Research that doesn't result in a patent is of no interest to investors. It is precisely that research that has been the most helpful to mankind. If all scientific research was dependent on venture capital investment we would live in a far different world. Without government funding research we wouldn't have a lot things we take for granted for example the internet. The patentable research comes after the pure science research that only the government has the means and desire to fund.
Mr. Ziegler your tales are full of drama, intrigue, and deep paranoia. I didn't even know you were involved in this mini-controversy until you wrote this painfully detailed account of your involvement. Also, you note numerous news accounts numerous times (4 or 5 at least) without any links. Surely if your tormentors are real (and numerous) you could provide a link or two.
"The left-wing blogs have been seemingly obsessed with me"
Really? Not seeing that. I think you are obsessed with you .. and Sarah Palin of course.
I haven't read your other posts on this subject. Thanks for the intellectual honesty to point out that this isn't a censorship or civil rights case. I just don't see the silenced part of this. She has more of a voice than any of her critics. Fox News is a big microphone. She seems to be getting an undue amount of air time to me. I think your broadside at "the left" for promoting a "one-sided definition of free speech" is b.s but hey everyone has an opinion.
